Saturday night features the 1st home game for new Ice Hawks coach Chris Blaisuis.  Coach Blaisuis is busy restructuring the Ice Hawks roster.  He is currently in the process of bringing in players for the remainder of the season.  Fans should expect to see a number of additions to the roster within the next week.  Several players who have been on the roster will be moved to other teams as the Ice Hawks prepare for the second half of the season.
This weekend’s opponent, North Iowa Bulls are one of the best teams in the NA3HL.  They are the only remaining team in the NA3HL to be undefeated in regulation (19-0-20. Coach Todd Sanden has the Bulls currently in 1st place in the Central Division at the top of their game.  This game will be a challenge for the Hawks.

Ice Hawks News-
Injury Update-   No new injuries after the weekend games with the Whalers.  Defenseman Trevor Witthus is still unlikely to see action this weekend.  He is still being treated at Mayo Sports Medicine Center.

Other Player News-
Coach Blaisuis has been busy in his first week with the Hawks. There are a number of trades and player acquisitions in the works.  Next weekend the Hawks play in the NA3HL Showcase in Blaine.  Games are scheduled on Sunday-Tuesday.  Several of our new players will be able to participate in those games. The second half of the season begins with games against the Bulls in Mason City on Dec. 30 and at home New Year’s Eve.  The Hawks have 14 home games remaining on the schedule.  Look for the new look Ice Hawks after the Christmas break.

Late breaking news-  As of Thurs night 12/7  Six new players will be joining the Hawks for this weekend’s games.
