 Nick Fatis-----Head Coach/Asst. G.M. Minimize

Nick is beginning his ninth season as the Ice Hawks’ head coach and his twelfth year of coaching at the junior level. He has led the Ice Hawks to four successive MJHL and Bush Cup Championships and five successive National Tournament Appearances.  In the 2005-06 season he and Co-Head Coach were recognized as MJHL's Coach of the Year.  He holds a Level 4  Coaching Certificate with USA Hockey.

 

Nick began his junior coaching career as an Ice Hawk assistant in 1997. He previously served as head coach of the Las Vegas Flames (Midget) and as the arena supervisor at the Santa Fe Ice Arena, Las Vegas, NV. Nick played junior hockey in the Western States Hockey League, the Minnesota Junior Hockey League and had a brief stint with the semi-pro Las Vegas Aces. Nick is committed to player development and to preparing his players for college hockey.  Nick and his wife Nicky live in Rochester with their daughter Colette (6), son Alex (4) and baby son Evan.

 Corey Dubois-----Assistant Coach Minimize

Corey is in the third year of his second stint as an Assistant Coach with the Ice Hawks.  He previously served with the Ice Hawks prior to their move to Rochester.   He has previously coached at the youth, high school as well as the junior levels. Corey has earned a Level 4  Coaching Certificate with USA Hockey.

 

Corey played his High School hockey in Red Wing, MN, helping the Wingers to 2 straight State Tournament appearances with 4th and 2nd place finishes respectively.  After High School, he played 2 seasons with the Ice Hawks and served as a team captain his 2nd year.  Corey moved on to high school coaching at Mankato East High School for a year.   He is pleased to be with the Ice Hawks and is committed to player development and promotion.  Away from the rink, Corey is a Banker with Wells Fargo in Rochester.  Corey lives in Rochester with his wife Mandy, Ethan and baby Nolan.

 Jim Vold-----Asst. Coach/Equip. Manager Minimize

Jim is an Assistant Coach and Equipment Manager.  He previously served as the equipment manager for the U. of North Dakota Women's hockey team as well as the Rochester Mustangs.  His coaching experience includes coaching at the midget level in the Rochester area and he is a Level 4 Coach in USA Hockey.

 

Jim is originally from Hatton, ND, where he grew up following the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. He didn¹t have the opportunity to play hockey at an early age, but he has become a student of the game. Jim is dedicated to the game he loves as evidenced by his volunteer work with the Mustangs, years of coaching at the youth hockey level and as host parent for Mustang players.   With the Ice Hawks, Jim has broad responsibilities including assisting at team practices, game day preparation and providing support to coaches and players on the bench. Jim's personal hockey history provides a unique perspective for players to appreciate the special opportunities they have in playing Junior Hockey. Jim lives in Byron, MN with his wife, Jane, and sons D.J. and Paul.

 Justin Bowder---Equipment Manager Minimize

Justin has been in hockey his whole life. His family is originally from the hockey hotbed of Northern Minnesota's Iron Range.  He is a native of Mankato, MN where he grew up playing in the Mankato Youth Hockey Association.  Justin has served with the Ice Hawks in a variety of capacities since 1999.  He is responsible for handling all equipment and preparing the players to participate in games.  He and Coach Nick have been close friends for 20 years and even played along side one another for a season or two of youth hockey.  Away from the rink, Justin is a resident of Rochester where he is employed by I.B.M. and Midwestern Custom Concepts Automotive.

 Bob Montrose-----Goalie Coach/Consultant Minimize

Bob joins the Ice Hawks as the goalie coach/consultant.  He is a graduate of U.WI-River Falls with a degree in Business Administration.  Bob has an extensive hockey background having played on a college national champion, coached & played professionally in Australia, played & coached in the MJHL, coached high school hockey for eight seasons and as a scout for the Bakersfield Condors ECHL.  Bob is currently the arena manager at Graham Arena (Rochester) and the owner/director of Peak Performance
