J.R. rejoins the Ice Hawks as an Illinois scout.  He is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in History and Political Science.  He is currently pursuing a career in the legal profession.  J.R. played 2 seasons for the Illinois State A.C.H.A hockey program.  He previously participated in the Northern Illinois Hockey League Midget Major AA where he will be primarily scouting this season.  J.R.’s goal is to promote Illinois players to junior and college hockey.

 Josh Leal Minimize

Josh serves as a consultant to the Ice Hawks.  His junior coaching history includes a stint with the Rochester Mustangs as an assistant and three seasons as the head coach of the Ice Hawks (earning ‘Coach of the Year’ honors in ’98-99 and ‘99-00) and the one year with the now defunct South Suburban Steers during the ‘00-01. After playing junior hockey for two years, Josh attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN where he participated in hockey and baseball. An injury early in his career caused him to retire and he began his coaching career with the Gusties JV’s.   Josh graduated from Gustavus in 1997 and completed his Masters degree at Minnesota State, Mankato with an emphasis in Sports Psychology.  Josh is employed at Gemini Sports, Eden Prairie, MN where he designs Junior, College and Professional teams' hockey jerseys.

 Chris Blaisuis Minimize

Chris serves in a player recruitment/scouting capacity.  His playing career includes four years of Jr. Hockey as well as brief stints at the semipro/pro minor leagues.  Chris served as coach of the University of South Florida (2001-03) where he led them to back to back College Hockey South Championships and was chosen to coach the southern conference in their all star game.  He has coached at the Jr. level and has participated in USA Hockey’s Officials Development Program.  In addition to his Ice Hawks duties, Chris serves as the Midwest Scout for the Kenai River Brown Bears.  Away from the ice, he is a nationally certified EMT who is employed by St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN where he resides with his wife Heather and son Brendan (2) and infant son Riley.

 Duncan Louie Minimize

Duncan serves as a scout and consultant to the Ice Hawks. The Chicago native is a 1997 graduate of Homewood Flossmoor High School where he was a three year varsity starter, helping his team to 3 three conference titles. He joined the Ice Hawks in 1997 after a brief stint in the Midwestern Ontario Junior Hockey League. After two seasons of junior hockey, Duncan continued his hockey career with the club program at Minnesota State University, Mankato and graduated in 2005 with a degree in management. Outside of hockey, he is in medical device sales and resides in Eden Prairie, MN.

 Jordan Buth Minimize

Jordan serves the Ice Hawks as a scout and game analyst.  He graduated from Coon Rapids HS in 1999 and played in the MJHL for two seasons.  He led the Owls to a league championship and a National Tournament appearance in 1998.  He continued his hockey career at Itasca C.C. and Minot State University and graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2005.  Jordan has served as an on ice official at the Junior and NCAA levels.  He is a die hard Boston Red Sox and Pearl Jam fan and lives in Minneapolis with wife Amy and their kittens Emma and Layla.

 Jim Martin Minimize

Jim brings over thirty years of hockey experience to his role as the Twin Cities area scout. He served as General Manager of the MJHL’s South Suburban Steers until the summer of 2002. He also coached the Steers at various times in his tenure there. Jim is well known in the Twin Cities hockey community and currently serves on the Hobey Baker Award Committee. He lives in Mendota Heights with his wife Diane.
