Hofmann, Susi returning to Ice Hawks Bench

Post Bulletin – April 13, 2017

Eric Hofmann’s promotion to head coach of the Rochester Ice Hawks was a turning point for a young team last season.

While it may not have shown in the Ice Hawks’ record, a majority of the players pointed to that moment in November as the biggest factor in the team’s improved play over the second half of the North American 3 Hockey League season.

Because of that turnaround in attitude and the team’s improved level of play, Hofmann will be back as the Ice Hawks’ head coach for the 2017-18 season.

Top assistant coach Vinnie Susi will also return. A second assistant coach is expected to be hired this summer.

┬áThe renewal of the coaches’ contracts gives them a full offseason to put together a roster and to prepare and go through the NA3HL Draft in June.

The Ice Hawks finished last season 10-36-1 overall and lost to the North Iowa Bulls in a first-round playoff series.

The 2017-18 regular season begins in September.
