Ice Hawks Drop Close Game

Rochester Post Bulletin October 30th 2017

The Rochester Ice Hawks will be happy to not see Austin Langworthy for the rest of the season.

The Mankato native single-handedly spoiled the Ice Hawks’ party on Pink the Rink Night Saturday at the Rochester Recreation Center.

Langworthy scored all of Breezy Point’s goals as the North Stars won a North American 3 Hockey League game 4-2 to put an end to Rochester’s three-game winning streak.

The Ice Hawks wore, and auctioned off, special pink jerseys and turned the Rec Center ice pink for their annual fund raiser to support breast cancer research.

Langworthy put a wrench in the good vibes, though, by scoring four goals, including the first three of the game.

The North Stars led 2-0 after one period and 3-1 after two.

Aaron Moots and Drew Westphal scored for the Ice Hawks (4-5-0). Michael Smits had two assists and Austyn Renn had one.

The Ice Hawks are back in action Friday at the Wisconsin Whalers. The Whalers then come to Rochester on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. game at the Rec Center.
