Ice Hawks Edged by Alexandria

The Rochester Ice Hawks hung with the Alexandria Blizzard on Wednesday night, but couldn’t find enough offense to earn a victory, falling 3-1 in a North American 3 Hockey League game.

Ice Hawks goalie Drew Schenkenberg kept his team in the game. The Ice Hawks were outshot 55-22, but Schenkenberg made 52 saves to keep the score close.

┬áThe Blizzard led 2-1 after one period and after two. Emil Lindfors scored twice for Alexandria in the first period, while Rochester’s Spencer Hadacek scored in between. Ethan Sievek and Colby Decarlo had the assists for Rochester.

The Ice Hawks pressed in the third period, but Alexandria’s Riley Meyer scored with 5:05 to go to make it 3-1.

Rochester plays host to the Chicago Bulldogs tonight and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the Rochester Recreation Center.
