Ice Hawks fall on the road

PEQUOT LAKES — The Rochester Ice Hawks allowed two goals in the second and two more in the third, suffering a 5-2 loss to the Breezy Point North Stars on Friday night in North American Tier 3 Hockey League action.

The Ice Hawks dropped to 0-3 in their new league.

Dominik Bogdzuil gave the Ice Hawks an early 1-0 lead, scoring 11:54 into the opening frame. Rochester native Nick Paulson and defenseman Trey McMillen had the assists.

But Breezy point would score the next four goals, including one in the first and two in the second. The North Stars made it 4-1 early in the third before the Ice Hawks cut it to 4-2 on Bogdzuil's second tally at 16:01. A pair of Rochester natives — Griffen Buck and Hunter Heightland — had the assists.

Sam Nelson took the loss in goal, recording 38 saves on 43 shots.

The Ice Hawks return to action 7:05 tonight at Graham Arena against Breezy Point.
