Ice Hawks Flattened by North Iowa

MASON CITY, Iowa — North Iowa showed its skill and depth early and often on Saturday as it rolled past the Rochester Ice Hawks 9-1 in a North American 3 Hockey League game at North Iowa Arena.

The Bulls scored the first two goals of the game and never trailed, outshooting the Ice Hawks 45-21.

North Iowa (15-0-3) led 3-1 after one period and 7-1 after two periods.

Kyle Schott scored his first goal as an Ice Hawk in his second game with the team. He scored at 13:44 of the first with assists from Skylar Watt and Alex Tarr.

Drew Schenkenberg and Tait Carlson split time in goal for Rochester.

Six players scored at least once for North Iowa, led by Mitch Dolter’s hat trick, and two goals from Jarod Blackowiak, who played in two games with the NAHL;s Austin Bruins early this season.
