Ice Hawks Sweep Wausau

WAUSAU, Wis. — Three Rochester Ice Hawks had two points and Drew Schenkenberg was sharp in goal Saturday as the Ice Hawks earned their first weekend sweep of the season, beating Wausau 5-2 for a second consecutive night.

 Skylar Watt scored twice, Conor Parker had a goal and an assist, and Noah Roach had two assists for the Ice Hawks (3-4-0).

The Ice Hawks have three wins in their first seven games this season; it took them eight games a year ago to get their first win and 20 games to earn their third victory.

Austyn Renn and Zach Curry also scored once each for Rochester, while Schenkenberg improved to 3-2-0 in goal by making 25 saves.

The Ice Hawks led 2-1 after one period and 4-1 after two. Matt Irwin and Sean Johnston scored for the RiverWolves (0-2-0).

Rochester is back in action at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Breezy Point.
