Black Friday Shopping all weekend at the Merchandise Booth

This weekend features a Saturday night and a rare Sunday afternoon game with St. Louis Jr Blues. The Jr. Blues are a storied franchise with a history of success on the ice and in player development Once again this season they are among the best teams in the NA3HL. Coach Chris Flaugher has the Jr. Blues in 1st place in the Midwest Division with a 17 – 1 record and 15pts ahead of 2nd place Peoria.

Ice Hawks News-
Injury Update- No new injuries after the weekend games with the Bulls. The Hawks expect to have forwards Jake Beal and Jackson Kranebell available against the Jr. Bues. Defenseman Trevor Witthus is still unlikely to see action this weekend. He is are being treated at Mayo Sports Medicine Center.

Other Player News- Forward Zach Curry has left the team. He was ill last week and missed the series with the Bulls. During the week he requested a trade. Subsequently he indicated that he was leaving the team and was seeking a playing opportunity outside of USA Hockey.  Ice Hawks regret his decision to leave the team.

#25 Kyle Schott made his Ice Hawks debut against the Bulls. The 5’7 160lb forward scored his first Jr. goal in Mason City on last Saturday night.  Schott whois from Waterloo, IA joins fellow Waterloo Warriiors, Jake Beal and Drew Westphal with the Hawks.  Schott comes to the Ice Hawks from the AAA Madison Capitals program.

The Hawks are seeking additional players to fill out their roster. With the rapid expansion of Tier 3 hockey across the country, teams are suffering severe player shortages.  The Hawks are focusing upon recruiting local southeast Minniesota players who may be available or who have become disillusioned with other programs and might wish to return to Minnesota..

Other News- Former Ice Hawks Scout Chris Blaisuis stepped down as Head Coach of the Wilmar Warhawks.
