Junior hockey: Ice Hawks belted by Bulls

The Rochester Ice Hawks allowed four goals in each of the first two periods and lost a North American 3 Hockey League game 11-2 at the Rochester Recreation Center on Saturday.

North Iowa led 4-0 after one period and 8-1 after two.

 Owen Larson and Marshall Barnes had two goals and an assist each for North Iowa, while Steven Mordini had four assists.

Rochester received goals from Sam Bjellum, his first of the season, and Austyn Renn.

 North Iowa heavily outshot the Bruins 53-13, including 24-7 in the second period.

Bailey Schmitz and Drew Schenkenberg split time in goal for Rochester.

The Ice Hawks play host to Breezy Point on Friday and La Crosse on Saturday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
