Late goal helps the Ice Hawks defeat the North Stars 3-2

Austyn Renn scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Rochester Ice Hawks defeat the the Breezy Point North Stars 3-2 in a home game at Rochester Recreation Center in Rochester. In addition, the Rochester Ice Hawks' offense had a big night, peppering Breezy Point with 50 shots throughout the game.

Noah Roach did his part, adding 2 assists. Austin Langworthy contributed with 2 goals and Jared Fladebo delivered for his team with 2 assists.

In the first, Smits opened the scoring for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 4:32 with a helper from his teammate Roach. Witthus netted a goal at 8:51 with a helper from Roach. Langworthy finally put Breezy Point on the board with a goal at 17:42 with assists from his linemates, Kram and Fladebo.

In the second period, Langworthy scored a goal at 5:16 with helpers from his linemates, Flicek and Fladebo.

During the third, Renn answered for Rochester with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 20:00.

The Ice Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Schenkenberg as he stopped 24 of the 24 shots he faced. Schenkenberg’s counterpart, Moore, also had a big night, managing to stop 47 of 48, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Rochester Ice Hawks’ record to (1-2-0-0).
