The North Iowa Bulls completed a home-and-road sweep of the Rochester Ice Hawks with a 5-1 road victory on Saturday in junior hockey.
The Bulls had beaten the Ice Hawks 4-3 in Mason City, Iowa, on Friday.
North Iowa received goals from five different players to win in Rochester. Marshall Barnes, Mitch Dolter and Josh Arnold all had a goal and an assist for the Bulls, who scored the game’s first four goals. Barnes now has 23 goals and 48 assists this season.
Zach Curry had the lone goal for the Ice Hawks. He netted his ninth of the season in the second period on an assist from Andrew Gates.
The Bulls scored three goals in the first 10:10 of the game. Ice Hawks goalie Drew Schenkenberg was then pulled after allowing three goals on 10 shots. Bailey Schmitz finished in goal for Rochester an he faced 50 more shots, saving 48.
Brady Meyers stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced as the Bulls improve to 29-8-0-1 in the Central Division of the NA3HL.
The Ice Hawks (7-32-0-1) will play at the St. Louis Junior Blues at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
