Ice Hawks fight Cancer!
The Ice Hawks take face Alexandria Blizzard in their annual Pink the Rink game.  The Blizzard (28-2-2) have clinched second place in the NA3HL’s West Division.  The Blizzard are led by Head Coach Jeff Crouse who is a former Ice Hawk player from the 1996 season.   The Blizzard feature three 50 point scorers:  #18 Caleb Anderson  171 goals- 39  assists- 56 pts) ; #17 Brenden Payne (18 goals- 33 assists- 51 pts); #16 Emil Lindfors (26 goals- 24 assists- 50 pts),  and by goalie Brey Effertz  (2.29 gaa- .911 save %).

Ethan Sievek signs NAHL Tender for 2017-18 Season
Rookie Defenseman Ethan Sievek (#28) has signed a tender with the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL.  Sievek spent 2 weekends with the Bobcats during the current season.  He is the first of the current squad to move to the NAHL.

Hawks Clinch Playoff Slot
Last weekend’s sweep of the Chicago Bulldogs assured the Ice Hawks of a Central Division playoff series vs division leader North Iowa Bulls.  Good News/Bad News-  first the Bad News, we get to play the reigning NA3HL Champion Bulls who are once again among the very best teams in the NA3HL!  The Good News- Our last two games vs the Bulls were very competitive games with the Bulls winning each by one goal!  Our boys will need to once again rise to the occasion.  The three game 1st round assures the Hawks of at least one more home game!

Zach Curry is out for the season with a lower body injury.  His rookie season ends on an unfortunate note but he really had an outstanding rookie year.  No new injuries were reported from the Chicago series.
