Assistant General Manager/Director of Hockey Operations
Nick moved to the Hockey Operations position in November of the 2016-17 season. He has been with the Ice Hawks organization since its inception in 1996 and serves on the team’s Board of Directors. He served as the Ice Hawks head coach for 17 seasons and has led the Ice Hawks to 6 Minnesota Jr. Hockey League and 7 Bush Cup Championships. 9 successive USA Hockey National Tournament Appearances with 4 Bronze Third Place Trophies. He has 580 wins as a Junior Hockey Head Coach. His Hockey Operations responsibilities include coordinating scouting/recruiting, player evaluation and promotion, roster management, media relations and coordination of hockey operations staff. Nick lives in Rochester with daughter Colette and sons Alex and Evan.
Eric was elevated to the Head Coach position in November of the 2016-17 season. He previously served as an Assistant Coach for five years and coordinated scouting.. His current duties include practice and game preparation as well as setting the on ice direction for the Ice Hawks. Eric is a USAH level 4 Hockey Coach. In addition to his Ice Hawks coaching duties, Eric is the owner/operator of Performance Training which offers sport-specific training and development focused specifically on, hockey. He also manages an fitness/hockey blog at www.gopt1.com. Eric lives in the Kasson, MN area with his wife Lindsey and son Harrison.
Equipment Manager / Assistant Coach
Justin has served with the Ice Hawks in a variety of capacities since 1999. He is currently responsible for handling all equipment and preparing the players to participate in games. Justin has been in involved in hockey as long as he can remember. His family roots are in the hockey hotbed of Northern Minnesota’s Iron Range. He was raised in Mankato, MN where he played in the Mankato Youth Hockey Association. He and Coach Nick have been close friends for about 30 years and played together for a few seasons of youth hockey. Away from the rink, Justin is a resident of Rochester.
Vinnie is a former Ice Hawks captain and one of our most popular players. Injuries curtailed his college hockey career. He is in his 2nd season as an Assistant Coach while attending Rochester Technical/Community College. Vinnie is beginning his second season behind the bench with the 2016-17 season. The Ice Hawks are pleased to have Vinnie launch his coaching career with the Ice Hawks while at the same time pursuing his college degree.
Jeff Bolin joins the Ice Hawks as an Assistant Coach with primary responsibility for working with the team’s goalies. Jeff has long been involved in coaching goalies at the youth and high school levels locally. He started his hockey career at Edina West and at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He has trained goaltenders at the youth, high school and college levels for the past 16 years. Also, he currently serves as the ‘Director of Hockey’ for the Dodge County Youth Hockey association in Kasson, MN. Jeff and his wife, Ann, have lived in Rochester, MN since 1996: they have two children, Matthew and Jessica.
