In the second, Nagel deposited a goal at 5:02 with assists from Smith and Mordini. Smith put in a goal at 7:28 with helpers from Mordini and Storlie. Kjome quickly followed with a goal at 7:52 with an assist from Smith. Mordini scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:31 with helpers from Storlie and Kreuser. Curry answered for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 14:53 with assists from his linemates, Watt and Renn.
During the third period, Tarr put in a goal at 6:50 with helpers from Parker and Roach. Smith answered for New Ulm with a goal at 10:09 with an assist from defenseman Mordini. Westphal answered for Rochester with a goal at 14:22 with helpers from Roach and Shupert.
