The Ice Hawks recorded a shutout against the Steel 10-0 in home game

The Rochester Ice Hawks struggled against the New Ulm Steel allowing Kirk Coppock to score a hat trick as Rochester crushed the Steel 10-0 in a home game at New Ulm Civic Center in Rochester. What's more, the Ice Hawks' defense had a poor night, allowing the Steel 29 shots throughout the game. The New Ulm Steel took the lead early in the first on a goal from Kirk Coppock and never looked back.

Tom Reilly did his part, adding 2 goals and Nickolas Wieben chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Coppock opened the scoring for the Steel with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:22 with helpers from Storlie and Moser. Smith quickly followed with a goal at 4:46 with assists from his linemates, Langworthy and Coppock. Trowbridge quickly followed with a goal at 5:17 with helpers from his teammates Mordini and Hoeschen. Wieben netted a goal at 18:18 with assists from Mordini and Woytcke.

In the second, Reilly deposited a goal at 8:08 with a helper from his linemate Cammarata. Miller quickly followed with a goal at 9:41 with assists from his linemates, Johnson and Wieben. Coppock scored a goal at 17:20 with helpers from Smith and Kraus. Mehlhop put in a goal at 19:46 with assists from Woytcke and Mordini.

During the third, Coppock deposited a goal at 7:58 with helpers from his linemates, Smith and Langworthy. Reilly scored a goal at 12:15 with assists from Moser and Storlie.

This loss brings the Rochester Ice Hawks’ record to (6-33-0-0).
